To further educate and guide student Party members in upholding their identity, fulfilling obligations, setting exemplary standards, and fully leveraging their vanguard and leading roles, Northwest University (NWU) held the “Show Your Identity” activity for Party members in the “One-Stop” Student Community at the Chang’an Campus on the afternoon of May 12.
Attendees included Zhang Yuanjun, member of the Standing Committee of the NWU Party Committee and Vice President; leading members of the Student Community Party Committee; secretary and deputy secretaries of the First Party Branch (floors 1–8, Building 18, Student Community); relevant school/department representatives in charge of student affairs; counselor representatives; and student Party member representatives—totaling over 30 participants. The ceremony was chaired by the head of the Student Community Party Committee.
During the event, Vice President Zhang Yuanjun awarded plaques for the “Party Member Vanguard Post”, while leading members of the Student Community Party Committee presented “Party Member Dormitory” plaques. All attendees reaffirmed their vows to join the Communist Party of China (CPC). Student Party member representative Wang Xiaoxian delivered a speech, pledging to actively respond to the Party organization’s calls, exemplify the pioneering role of Party members, and engage in community development and management. She emphasized commitments to ideological guidance, peer support, and cultural initiatives, drawing inspiration from role models to strive as a community pioneer.
In his speech, Zhang Yuanjun extended congratulations to the collectives and individuals awarded the “Party Member Vanguard Post” and “Party Member Dormitory” plaques. Regarding the advancement of the “One-Stop” Student Community initiative, he emphasized the need to build resilient Party member dormitory “strongholds”, sustain efforts to standardize and institutionalize ideological education for student Party members in the community, and foster deeper political conviction, ideological alignment, theoretical understanding, and emotional resonance among youth toward the Party’s innovative theories. He called for the establishment of a grid-based Party member dormitory “matrix”, persistently guiding student Party members to arm their minds with Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era through themed education activities and Party Day initiatives, thereby helping young students “fasten the first button of life”. Additionally, he stressed the importance of setting exemplary “benchmarks” for Party member pioneers, urging student Party members to maintain rigorous self-discipline, pursue excellence, and foster harmonious dormitories. By designating model Party member dormitories, the initiative will drive grid-based improvements across the student community, elevating the quality and efficiency of NWU’s “One-Stop” Student Community development.
The “One-Stop” Student Community initiative represents a crucial reform measure for higher education institutions to fulfill the fundamental mission of fostering virtue through education, thoroughly implement the guiding principles from the 20th CPC National Congress and General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important discourses on education, and enhance the systematic and refined development of Party building, student education management, and ideological-political work in the new era. Building upon its earlier achievements in establishing the “One-Stop” Student Community framework and institutional mechanisms, NWU has formulated and implemented corresponding work plans and measures with notable results. We will continue guiding student Party members to “show their identity and fulfill their commitments”, fully leverage residential halls as educational platforms, strengthen ideological-political leadership, exemplify the vanguard role of Party members, and advance the “One-Stop” Community with greater depth and breadth.
